OVER HERE! - Back with the Beat at The Triad

November 13, 2019

On Veteran's Day, Over Here! The Big Band Musical was back in New York at The Triad Theatre for the first time since its original 1974 Broadway production and the joint was jumpin'. Under the razor-sharp direction of Will Nunziata, this feel-good show sparkled and shined like a freshly polished diamond. It featured a stellar cast of 19, plus an 11-piece swing band, under musical director Blake Allen. Choreographer Andrew Black used every inch of space to give us one eye-popping musical number after another. Veteran's Day proved to be the perfect time to revive this beloved celebration of the American spirit and optimism that defined the 1940's. To make it even more worthwhile, a portion of the proceeds from the evening was donated to Vietnam Veterans of America.

Review: U-M's Guys and Dolls has it all, song, dance, and a big heart

April 15, 2016

"Any production of Guys and Dolls hinges on a great Miss Adelaide, the comic spark and the emotional draw of Loesser's songs. Hannah Flam is an outstanding Adelaide: adorable, loud, gawky, and thoroughly convincing. Her musical highlights are many from the Hot Box revue numbers 'A Bushel and a Peck' and 'Take Back the Mink' to her duet with Pfeiffer on 'Marry the Man Today.' But the tall, imposing Flam makes her biggest impression on 'Adelaide's Lament.' She's funny but also poignant when she sings that romantic troubles are enough 'to give a person a cold.'"
